Why work with a Credentialed Hiring Consultant
There are an endless array of reasons to choose a certified staffing specialist over the average headhunter. To begin with, certification takes hard work and it takes dedication. Two ingredients that we should all seek from all of our business partners. It also shows that the hiring consultant in question has a deep devotion to their career as a staffing agent (no part-time “headhunters” here). These professionals have taken the time to be educated on numerous levels and to learn about all sides of the hiring equation – and we know that this includes far more than the obvious two: corporation and candidate.
Being a great staffing agent means considering much more than finding the round peg for the round hole. It means interviewing potential candidates with a different kind of ear – this neatly brings in the CEIC Certification (Certified Employment Interview Consultant), as well as the CPBA Training (Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst). The latter of these is vital, since a candidate’s resume and background might be a perfect fit, but their personality and their behavioral assets could find them a poor combination for certain teams or companies. Choosing to work with a staffing agent who is able to screen your candidates and potential hires time after time, with both an interviewer’s ear and a sixth sense, becomes a system you can trust and rely on.
This CPBA certification also becomes a great asset to the candidate as well. We are all a collection of assets and strengths, and having a trained objective eye to help us feature some aspects and downplay others, doesn’t just “land the job,” it mentors us in a way we can use in our real, day-to-day lives far into our future. For instance, by taking a brief behavioral assessment, such as the DiSC profile, the hiring mentor can then help an applicant to understand that they might be more suited to a service-oriented career (such as executive assistant) – or a more dynamic role as a salesperson, depending on their reactions to things (as demonstrated through the DiSC scores). Secret strengths are often brought to the surface through these exercises, and this can make a real difference in the direction a person’s career might go and even allow them to course correct if they’re far off base or unhappy.
It also helps if your hiring consultant is a Certified Professional Career Coach (CPCC). This means, that they have invested themselves in the education and hard work needed to mentor others on how to discover their right path, right now. And what can happen when you work with the right career coach is huge. You can literally learn to transform and create success all around you – in your job, your family, your relationships, everything. Let’s face it, we’re at work A LOT, and finding your real niche is very important. Likewise, getting caught in the wrong one is awful.
On the corporate client side, you will find that your staffing efforts go much more smoothly if the person you partner with at a staffing agency is a CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant) and/or a CTS (Certified Temporary Staffing Specialist). These certifications involve many tough hours of training in ethics, customer care and communication – something vital to this process and partnership. And being a Certified Search Specialist (CSS) doesn’t hurt either.
So where on earth is one to find this alphabet soup of specialties? Well, in this case, you can find every single one of them in Catherine Palmiere. Need we say more?
