The 1-2-3 on Online Job Applications and Corporate Website Applications – PART TWO
Remember, when you’re conducting an online job search, keep your list of 50 places you’d like to work with on hand and visit those companies’ websites every week or so. We all need to face the fact that more and more corporations are using their websites and online portals to feature job openings. No longer are companies using print ads. So it’s important to make online a viable and active part of your job search efforts.
Finally, I have said this many times but I will say it again. Be sure you keep track of where you send your resume, especially online. If you get a call or email about a job your applied to, you want to make sure you can qualify why are a good choice for the position. Also, quite often job seekers have more than one version of their resume, so take notes and be sure you remember what version of your resume you sent to which company. This could be the deciding factor as to whether you get a job an interview and even the job offer. Remember, always be honest on your resume, but it’s certainly okay to feature key words or a specific skill set that may make you the best candidate for a specific company or specific industry.
