Goals to Guide Your Way – Part One
There’s no doubt about it, this economy has been TOUGH – and it’s been especially hard on those who have lost their jobs. Because losing your job can literally feel like losing your way. It may involve feelings of shame, blame and especially fear. What it probably WON’T feel like is the flip side of the coin, an opportunity to reevaluate your goals and where you’re headed in life.
Taking the time whenever we can to do some self-analysis is one of the MOST worthwhile exercises we can embrace in our lives. In fact, it is one of those activities and events that we should calendar. It’s like making a personal appointment to stop and look around and reset our GPS. It’s our chance to look at what issues crop up in our careers, relationships and beliefs that roadblock us and stops our progress dead in its tracks.
I always take the time to recommend the DISC profile to all of my clients simply because it’s one of the most effective, inexpensive and widely used tools in our industry. You can find a link to this on my website: http://www.PalmiereCareerServices.com. In the meantime, start with some good old, basic introspection and try to see this as an opportunity to recreate your dreams and goals.
To your continued success,
