August 2008

Yes, that was Adam President Catherine Palmiere on Tuesday, August 12 on ABC News popular Good Morning America program anchored by Diane Sawyer. Ms. Palmiere, who lectures on "Dressing for Success" and "Interview Tips," appeared as a panelist of Big Apple's top recruiters tasked with determining whether hair style makes a difference in getting hired. The GMA segment, called Curly or Straight, dealt with the question "Why do women with curly hair feel the need to straighten it?"

AMNY.com, where urbanites get the news to go with their morning coffee, describes Adam President Catherine Palmiere in its August 7, 2008 edition as "in the trenches with New Yorkers battling a sluggish economy." In an article in the Money section by Leah Rosen, headlined As economy sours, headhunters see boom, the popular tabloid quotes Ms. Palmiere's pithy suggestion for jobseekers: "network, network, network." October 2008

Popular lecturer -- and Adam President -- Catherine Palmiere will speak twice at the Grace Institute in Manhattan in October. On October 3, she'll talk about "Dressing for Success in the Changing World of Work." Then on October 17 she'll offer her frequently-requested "Interview Tips" at the same venue. Look for Adam Personnel and Adam Temporary Services to be featured under "Employment Contractors" in the Fall ad campaign planned by the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan New York. Advertisements are scheduled to appear in the New York Times, Daily News, and El Diario.

September 2008

Starting in September, Adam President Catherine (with two e's) Palmiere will return to her alma mater in the Bronx, St. Catharine (with two a's) Academy High School. No she wasn't left back. She'll be mentoring a student in business topics to ease the transition to college or the workplace.

With everyone back to school in September, Adam President Catherine Palmiere will again be teaching her popular career preparation course, Office Policies and Procedures, at prestigious Grace Institute. The course, which meets Monday and Friday, 9-10 am and Tuesday 10-11 am from September through January, covers such topics as resume writing, interviewing, and business etiquette. This year, Ms. Palmiere will also teach a Wednesday evening session from 6-9 pm. It starts in September and runs through June 2009.

July 2008

Everyone at Adam Personnel and Adam Temporary Services has their head in a book these days. The book is Testimonies by Patrick O'Halloran,the New York City College of Technology professor with whom Adam President Catherine Palmiere is writing How to Find a Job, due out in December 2008. Testimonies is a collection of poems by Professor O'Halloran written in English and translated into Gaelic, Polish, Russian and Spanish. Intimate moments of self-analysis with philosophical conjectures, they require one to question "life, death, and some place in between." Testimonies is available at the City Tech Bookstore or online at the bookstore's website. The price is $13.75.

Adam President Catherine Palmiere has earned the CEIC (Certified Employment Interview Consultant) designation awarded to qualified career consultants on successful completion of training offered by Career Directors International. CDI provides resources and assistance to its members seeking to enhance their career development, resume writing, and employment practices.

DiversityBusiness.com is a business resource that facilitates contacts and communication, helps match buyers and suppliers, sponsors an annual conference on conference diversity and multiculturalism, publishes DiversityBusiness magazine, and provides business news and information.

Taking a professional service business to the next level requires constant skills training and lots of networking. Adam President Catherine Palmiere helps her business and its clients by using the resources offered by professional organizations, including the Society for Human Resource Management, the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches, and the Human Resources Association of New York, all of which she's joined recently.

Adam President Catherine Palmiere knows the importance of a well-written resume. To hone her skills as a resume-writing coach, she recently joined the National Resume Writers Association, and completed an online resume training program offered by the nonprofit association for professional resume writers.

Adam President Catherine Palmiere will open her heart on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 and reach out to those striving for self-improvement. She'll explain "How Education And Working With a Staffing Firm Can Help Land A Great Job."

Starting Friday, February 15, 2008, Adam President Catherine Palmiere will reprise her popular career preparation course at the prestigious Grace Institute, the school founded in 1897 by New York Mayor, W.R. Grace to provide women with tuition-free education and training in business and administrative skills. The course, which meets Monday and Friday, 9-10 am and Tuesday 10-11 am, will cover such topics as resume writing, interviewing, and business etiquette.

Adam's popular President Catherine Palmiere, a member of the Grace Institute faculty, will be on hand Thursday, February 14, 2008 to talk at the Principal's Conference sponsored by the NYC Department of Education's Knowledge Network. The Thursday, October 25, 2007 edition of Metro, the world's largest global newspaper, featured another helpful article for applicants by Adam President, Catherine Palmiere. In her article, Sealing the Deal: Thank You Notes Can Land You the Job, Ms. Palmiere says, "Remember, a well-written resume gets you in the door; a good interview sells you to the employer; and a thank you note can seal the deal in landing the job."
